120 tonnes, restricted space and demanding safety requirements: for our customer Société Électrique de l’Our (SEO), we developed and manufactured a new transport and turning device for the removal of heavy rotors at the Vianden pumped-storage power plant.
The challenge lay in safely setting down, turning and positioning a 120-tonne rotor within a highly restricted underground environment, before loading it for heavy transport.KARL HUGO delivered a solution specifically designed for this application, from engineering and structural calculations through to manufacturing. We also provided the required calculations and documentation for a CE-compliant solution.
